On January 12, 2010, a massive earthquake struck Haiti at 4:53 p.m. The quake claimed more than 300,000 lives and displaced 1.5 million people. Heart to Heart was there shortly after the disaster and we have been there ever since.
Our mission is to improve health through initiatives that connect people and resources to a world in need.
Over the past two years, we have mobilized more than 500 volunteers and more than $43 million worth of medical aid to save lives and help Haitian communities recover from the earthquake. Because of your support, more than 108,000 patient visits were made possible at our partner clinics. For many of these patients, it was the first time that they have ever been examined by a doctor or nurse!
Our work is far from over.
In a
new progress report, you can see how your support enabled us to rapidly respond to medical needs only days after the quake -- and how your continued support is helping build local healthcare capacity in communities that have never had access to a physician, a pharmacy or a lab.
Join us as we keep walking the path to sustainability with our local partners in Haiti.
