Update: Keep Girls in School Kits have shipped!

2,000 Girls in Malawi will receive educational support and supplies to help them stay in school!

2,000 menstrual health & hygiene kits shipped out July 12th, 2017. HHI has partnered with Save the Children on a comprehensive education program in Malawi, Africa.

Girls in the developing world often miss up to one week of school every month. Lack of access to basic hygiene supplies during their menstrual period contributes to increased absenteeism and adversely impacts education. Without the resources to manage their bodies’ basic needs, many simply stop going to school.

When girls drop out of school before mastering basic literacy and numeracy skills the net effect is a continuing cycle of poverty at both the family and community level.

Together, we can make a difference. Educated girls grow into educated women. They generally have healthier babies and are more likely to understand the value of using maternal health care and antenatal health care services, thus reducing future child mortality rates.

HHI needs your help to fund special girls’ hygiene kits.  These kits provide girls the education and tools necessary to stay clean and healthy during their menstrual cycle. The kit contains special hygiene and safety items. The underwear is a mesh fabric that repels water and drys quickly to prevent bacterial infections.  Soap and laundry detergent is supplied to keep them clean. A manual crank ready light and whistle help girls stay safe at night.

Heart to Heart International is committed to supporting more girls around the world.

Your $100 donation will support 5 girls, $200 donation supports 10 girls or $1,000 supports 50 girls.
