When disaster strikes, people must often leave their homes and find temporary sources of food, water and shelter. The need for safety and survival is predominant. In most crises that affect large numbers of people, the threat of airborne and water-borne disease creates another emergency.
In these situations, we work to avert a second crisis by delivering thousands of Heart to Heart Care Kits to people in crisis—refugees fleeing regional conflict, evacuees finding safety outside of a disaster zone, and families struggling with poverty.
These personal hygiene kits prevent the spread of germs and help fight disease for up to two weeks. More importantly, the kits provide a sense of dignity and a little more control in a chaotic environment.
