The Collection Crew
Heart to Heart often organizes collection drives at local Sam’s Club® store locations during times of disaster. Even if you do not live in the Kansas City area, you can help us by creating your own collection crew and supporting our crisis response.
It is a fun, yet meaningful, way to get your family, friends, workplace, school, university, civic club or faith community involved in Heart to Heart’s global work.
The recipe for success is simple:
- Identify the items you intend to collect (check out our Current Needs list for examples). The more specific the list of items, the more successful you will be in collecting them.
- Establish a strategy for collecting the items—either going door-to-door or collecting at a central location.
- Recruit a team to help you distribute the needs list in the local area over a specific time.
- Collect the items.
- Package them by first documenting your inventory and sealing the items for delivery.
- Contact our Global Distribution Services staff before sending the collected items to our warehouse in Kansas City, KS.
