The Backbone of Our Operations

Since Heart to Heart’s founding in 1992, we have benefited from the administrative and logistical support of volunteers. People of all ages and backgrounds have helped answer phones, greet visitors, file important papers, enter constituent data on computers, perform critical research, process mailings, unload trucks, sort goods, package aid, and send shipments of humanitarian assistance around the world.

We still need your help today!

Consider filling one of the following roles at our World Headquarters in Olathe, KS:

• Receptionist: Volunteers in this role perform tasks such as covering the front desk and answering phone calls over the lunch hour. Commitment: One (1) hour once a week
• Clerk: Volunteers in this role help by filing donor information, entering data on the computer, assisting with mailings and being a general help around the office. Commitment: Two (2) hours once a week
• Researcher: Volunteers in this role work with our Programs staff on background information for future initiatives, analyze data from current initiatives, review historical facts from past initiatives. Commitment: Two (2) hours once a week
• Driver: Volunteers in this role assist us by being available to drive one of our mobile response vehicles to local and national destinations. Lead drivers also help define and enforce standard operating procedures for all volunteer drivers. Commitment: 12-15 hours per month, as needed

Or you could help in one of these roles at our Global Distribution Center in Kansas City, KS:

• Entrance Assistant: Volunteers in this role help our warehouse staff by answering phone calls, screening visitors, and manage the flow of paperwork related to global shipments. Commitment: Four (4) hours once a week
• Sorter: Volunteers in this role perform such tasks as sorting miscellaneous goods for future shipments. Commitment: Three (3) hours once a week
• Packer: Volunteers in this role assist us by picking orders from our inventory and packaging small shipments of aid. Commitment: Four (4) hours twice a week
