With both Mt. Whitney (highest point in lower 48 at 14,505ft)  and Forester Pass (highest point on the PCT at 13,200ft) completed in one day we decided to rest the legs for a day in Bishop at the hiker hostel.  It was one of those days that I don’t think I’ll ever forget.

Forester PassWhen we came down from getting snowed on up Forester Pass the sun was setting and the clouds broke.  We arrived at our campsite that was a little plateau between the pass and the bottom of the valley below.  There were clouds below us and I knew that the view was easily the most beautiful landscape I’d ever seen.  The pictures do it no justice.

What a view

It’s weird being in town now after being surrounded by nonstop good vibes of hikers on the trail.  This trip is also teaching me that living out of a backpack is a great way to have a trip and not a vacation.  Time to crush 125 miles to Mammoth Lakes!
