Heart to Heart founder publishes second book on humanitarian experiences and ‘Power of Serving Others’

OLATHE, Kan./June 1, 2006 — Heart to Heart International Inc., a leading global humanitarian organization, today said that a new book by Dr. Gary Morsch, the organization’s president and founder, and co-author Dr. Dean Nelson will be hitting bookstores soon. The book, The Power of Serving Others: You Can Start Where You Are, recounts the humanitarian experiences of Dr. Morsch in his myriad roles as nonprofit leader, Army physician and churchman.

“This book is really a sequel to our first joint project,” Dr. Morsch said, referring to his first book co-written with Dr. Nelson, Heart and Soul: Awakening Your Passion to Serve. “Our first book inspired people to get into the game of serving others. This book shows them what to do once they’re in the game.”

Published as a BK Life Book by Berrett-Koehler Publishers Inc. of San Francisco, the 109-page book is targeted at people looking to make a difference in their world. It takes the adage, “think globally, act locally,” to a new paradigm—volunteerism. The book helps readers get past the mental blocks that often stop them from doing something about worldwide concerns. The authors show readers how to start doing something right where they are, in their own community.

Most bookstore chains are expected to carry the book starting in June 2006. Heart to Heart is making advance copies available to supporters for a donation of $25. For more information, contact the Resource Development staff at 913-764-5200.
