Celebrities, charity golfers to gather at Kauffman Classic

OLATHE, Kansas/April 24, 2007—Heart to Heart International Inc., a leading global humanitarian organization, announced today that the field of charity golfers is filling up fast for the Ewing M. Kauffman Golf Classic on May 14 at historic Oakwood Country Club in Kansas City, Mo.

Local celebrities, including current and former Royals and Chiefs players, college stars and other personalities, will be part of the field that tees off at the Kauffman Classic, now in its 14th year of benefiting local children as part of Heart to Heart’s School Readiness initiative.

“It’s shaping up to be a very competitive field at this year’s event,” said André T. Butler, Heart to Heart’s vice president for resource development. “Thanks to our title sponsor—the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation—we are not only going to have a great day of golf, but we are also going to raise a lot of money for disadvantaged students.”

This year, Heart to Heart expects to deliver 7,500 backpacks full of essential, age-appropriate school supplies through its distribution network to students in Kansas City and beyond.

Sponsorships are still available. Individual tickets are $325 and foursomes cost $1,000.
