OLATHE, Kan./June 15, 2008 — Heart to Heart International Inc., a leading global humanitarian organization, today announced that Salina-based Green Lantern Car Wash is supporting Heart to Heart’s crisis-response efforts around the world with a local fundraiser that runs between now and the end of July. Each time a driver opts for Green Lantern’s Ultimate Wash at participating locations, the company will donate two dollars toward Heart to Heart’s global relief efforts.
“We are a community-minded company and want to do our part to help with the relief efforts,” said Bud DeArvil, spokesman for Green Lantern. “As part of the ‘Ultimate Relief’ fundraising campaign, car owners not only get a superior wash, but they also support a great cause.”
Green Lantern and its customers have contributed more than $100,000 to Heart to Heart’s relief efforts over the past three years. Green Lantern customers may opt for the Ultimate Wash at the Liberty, Mo., location (I-35 and 152 Highway) or its new location in Olathe (135th Street and Black Bob Rd.).
“This campaign will help us reach more disaster victims locally, nationally and internationally,” said Dr. Jeff DeGraffenreid, Heart to Heart’s chief operating officer. “We are privileged to have such a wonderful relationship with Green Lantern and we encourage everyone to take advantage of this company’s generous offer over the next month.”
Heart to Heart is currently responding to people in crisis in more than a dozen countries, including the United States. The organization continues to lead rebuilding efforts along the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina and in Greensburg, Kan., following last summer’s devastating F5 tornado. It is also helping families in the Midwest recover and rebuild in the midst of historic flooding.
