Heart to Heart mobile clinic featured at Bartle Hall event, Dec. 9-10
OLATHE, Kan. (December 7, 2009) — Heart to Heart International Inc., a leading global humanitarian organization, today announced that its Mobile Medical Unit will be used at the 2009 Kansas City CARE Clinic at Bartle Hall, Dec. 9-10. The event will showcase the vital role that free health clinics play locally and nationally—even as the Congress is trying to form national health care.
“Heart to Heart has a strong history of supporting health initiatives in Kansas City,” said Jon D. North, Heart to Heart’s CEO. “We currently assist nine free clinics in the metro area with donated medical aid and volunteer support, so we wanted to be at this community event to advocate for our local partners and help get more people in need of care into the medical system.”
Sponsored by the National Association of Free Clinics, the Kansas City CARE Clinic is the fourth event of its kind this year. Previous events in Houston, New Orleans and Little Rock attracted more than 3,700 uninsured patients.
CARE stands for Communities Are Responding Everyday, and the 2009 Kansas City CARE Clinic highlights the incredible work of local free health clinics—many of which have seen a dramatic increase in patients this year, while receiving little or no state or federal funding.
The event is presented at no cost to patients. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up online at www.regonline.com/kansascitycare.
Heart to Heart’s local health outreach is funded in part by the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, the REACH Foundation, and private companies and individuals.
