The highest attainable standard of health—receiving quality care and treatment for disease—is a fundamental human right. For billions of people around the world, unfortunately, access to basic health services is out of reach. Pharmacy shelves are often empty and available medicines are cost-prohibitive for poverty-stricken families.

Heart to Heart is making healthcare more accessible by resourcing hundreds of medical teams, free clinics and international hospitals with regular shipments of much-needed medical aid. Since 1992, we have distributed more than $700 million (U.S. wholesale) worth of medicines and supplies to 110 countries, including the United States.

But Heart to Heart is much more than the world’s pharmacy; we are also involved in targeting our aid to reach people in underserved regions and leading efforts to prevent and control disease.

In Nigeria, for example, we are increasing access an effective treatment for opportunistic diseases that attack people living with HIV/AIDS. We are also leading an immunization effort in the Dominican Republic to protect children, healthcare workers and other at-risk populations from life-threatening meningitis. Here in the United States, we are supplying safety-net clinics with insulin to treat diabetic patients in times of disaster.
