Tools for School

The United Nations has targeted two major educational initiatives as part of its Millennium Development Goals. First, the global community should ensure that every boy and girl complete a full course of primary schooling. Second, we should all eliminate gender disparity in primary and secondary education.

Heart to Heart is part of the global solution. We are addressing these educational goals in several ways. In Sri Lanka, for instance, we are cross-training primary school teachers and improving the classroom environment. In Guatemala, we are actually using schools as a driving force as part of our WASH initiative.

We are even working in the United States to provide disadvantaged students with tools for school. Like most kids, they are smart and want to succeed in school, but they simply lack the resources to do so.

We help these students by providing them with a Heart to Heart SchoolPack™—a sturdy backpack filled with essential school supplies for specific age groups.
