Building Capacity:

Through our health partners at the American Academy of Family Physicians, we organized several medical symposia during the 2006 Physicians With Heart project that reinforced the emerging practice of Family Medicine in Moldova. Further, we facilitated a train-the-trainer course that emphasized managing obstetric emergencies in childbirth.

Increasing Access:

As part of the 2006 Physicians With Heart project, we provided $3 million (U.S. wholesale) of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and diagnostic instruments to 13 hospitals throughout Moldova. Heart to Heart continues to support hospitals and clinics in Moldova through targeted shipments of medical aid.

Strengthening Communities:

Along with our health partners, Heart to Heart helped improve sanitation at an orphanage and renovated a facility that provides job training to orphaned youth in Moldova.
