Partner Spotlight: Bank of Blue Valley and the Regnier Family Foundation

We are grateful to the Bank of Blue Valley and the Regnier Family Foundation for their Humanitarian Sponsorship at our Applause fundraising event last month.

This longtime Kansas City alliance is founded on local business relationships and over the years ours has grown into a strong community and philanthropic partnership. We’re so thankful we can call both Bank of Blue Valley as well as the Regnier Family Foundation strong supporters of Heart to Heart International.

The Bank of Blue Valley exemplifies a true business partner. Their commitment to be a contributing member by serving the needs of their customers and the overall community demonstrates that they have all the attributes of a successful corporate partnership for any nonprofit, and we’re proud they’ve added HHI to their long list of charities that they consider partners.

Heart to Heart International has worked with Bank of Blue Valley since April 2014. Immediately there was a partnership that went beyond a traditional banking relationship. Fortunately, Bank of Blue Valley keeps its decision making at the local level and their bankers are committed to understanding every customer’s financial relationship. This partnership has allowed HHI to sustain its investments as well as grow. The bank lends its expertise to HHI staff with typical banking functions but equally important, the bank also has been an important investment partner.

Bob Regnier started Bank of Blue Valley and now is president and CEO. He is a prominent member in the Kansas City community and is Vice Chairman for the Regnier Family Foundation, along with his siblings, Cathy and Victor Regnier Jr.

After their parents’ deaths, the Regnier children carried on their parents’ legacy by establishing the Foundation to support organizations that reflect the values of Vic and Helen Regnier: entrepreneurship, innovation, education and science. The Foundation has made a mark throughout the Kansas City region, supplementing endowments at area universities as well as many local nonprofits including Heart to Heart International.

Bob Regnier’s involvement at HHI has been vast and includes accepting a volunteer role as honorary fundraising campaign chair. His well-established reputation in the community enhanced the organization’s credibility and accessibility to funders.

He also spearheaded the financing for the purchase of the HHI Lenexa, Kansas, headquarters building in 2019, making significant financial contributions and helping to enable the continuation of our mission to provide access to healthcare to those in need. Thanks to a generous donation from the Foundation, we were able to develop the Regnier Family Foundation Gallery, a beautiful photo gallery near the building’s entrance.

Lastly, Bob’s exemplary leadership has inspired bank employees and others to volunteer their time at HHI, demonstrating a true commitment to Heart to Heart International and our mission.

“It’s been an honor to be a part of Heart to Heart International and support the organization’s mission of providing access to health to those in need,” said Bob Regnier. “We’re committed to our local communities because we’re a part of them ourselves. All of us share the road with each other, bump into each other at the supermarket, and send our kids to the same schools. We love our neighbors and our track record shows it.”

Partner Spotlight: ArtClass Content

BicMedia, now ArtClass Content, first became a valued supporter of Heart to Heart International when its managing partner, Austin Bickford, joined the HHI Board of Directors in 2019.

Bicoastal production company ArtClass acquired Kansas City-based video agency BicMedia in August, and BicMedia now operates as the post-production department, content studio, and Midwest hub of ArtClass.

The amazing team of designers, editors and storytellers have created a multitude of visually impacting and arresting ways to help tell the story of Heart to Heart International.

Using its expertise and talent, it has helped HHI broaden its portfolio of communications. Some of the work includes:

  • Multiple overview videos highlighting HHI’s work with COVID-19 and its work in general
  • Video message from HHI’s CEO at the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing HHI’s ability and readiness to respond to the incredibly varied crises a global pandemic would create
  • A media press kit
  • Animations for social media to complement the 2020 Impact Report
  • Rebranding of HHI’s annual fundraiser, complete with new logo

For an organization like HHI, with a small team for marketing and communications, having this support has been invaluable. It enables the message and mission of HHI to reach a wider audience without an increase in overhead costs.

ArtClass, formerly BicMedia, is located in Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District and boasts 7,500 square feet of office space along with a 10,000-square-foot soundstage for live-action shoots.
