Empower Girls Kit
Girls in low- and middle-income countries often use rags, paper or grass for their periods and may not have any facilities to privately change these supplies or clean themselves or their clothes. These unsanitary conditions lead to infections, stains and for many girls, embarrassment. To avoid the cultural stigma associated with menstruation, girls will often choose to stay away from school during their periods. The reusable sanitary supplies and safety equipment included in the HHI Empower Girls kits give girls in low- and middle-income countries the tools they need to confidently and safely attend school, regardless of menstruation.
