Hygiene kits are vital to our humanitarian aid work. They are distributed in the immediate aftermath of disasters, as part of ongoing crisis responses and to under-resourced communities. This entire effort is made possible by our dedicated volunteers, who come together to assemble each and every kit, and funding from sponsors.

Our partners at Tampa Bay Street Medicine distributed our hygiene kits to those in need and affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. They shared with us that the kits were “a big hit on our street run Friday night and the refugee clinic” and are “making an impactful difference in our community!
Olena, a single mother to two young girls, fled her home in Okhtyrka, Ukraine, after Russia began its attacks. They moved to live with her mother in a rented apartment in the western part of Ukraine. The family has been receiving medicine, food and hygiene products, including our hygiene kits, through a network of aid organizations. With the high cost of rent, utilities, diapers and formula, Olena says the provided aid has been a lifesaver for her and her family as they try to navigate their new life.
We distributed 8,000 Hygiene kits to 600 youth from the community. The items in the kits are considered a luxury to most of the community, (even basic soap and washcloth) so they were incredibly helpful in the aim to promote health and good hygiene for all of them. They were so happy! The health of these youth will be improved immensely! Every single recipient of the hygiene kits was so very grateful. One said to us “I can now feel good and keep clean, zikomo!”
We, with our partners in Lebanon, delivered the hygiene kits we received to refugee villages, slums, and patients in the hospitals throughout Beirut. Everyone was so appreciative. The smallest things make the biggest difference.

Vice President – Hygiene Kit program
Brian Sink joined HHI after three years of volunteering for the organization in the warehouse and hygiene kits programs. His professional background includes 24 years at Sprint Communications (now T-Mobile), where he developed expertise in process design, product management, and project management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Pennsylvania State University. Brian’s transition to the nonprofit sector was inspired by his experiences supporting underserved communities. In his role as Vice President of Hygiene Kits, he oversees the development and implementation of the organization’s hygiene kits initiatives. He is driven by the dynamic nature of HHI’s work and the opportunity to make a tangible difference.
