Twin Earthquakes Strike Venezuela

On June 24, 2026, two powerful earthquakes struck northern Venezuela. The quakes measured 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude and struck within 39 seconds of each other.

Though the epicenters were located outside major urban areas, the quakes heavily impacted Venezuela’s most densely populated northern corridor, which is home to roughly 10 to 12 million people and represents nearly a third of the country’s population.

Major structural damage has already been reported across Caracas and La Guaira, including collapsed residential buildings, severe structural cracking, and compromised transportation facilities. With active aftershocks still a threat, local search, rescue, and emergency teams are working around the clock to determine the full scope of the impact.

This is expected to trigger a high-need humanitarian crisis.

Because getting aid into Venezuela requires navigating a highly complex logistics environment, recent operational experience is vital. In 2025, we successfully shipped 18,000 individual hygiene kits to UNHCR Venezuela in partnership with USA for UNHCR. This experience and history is critical to our ability to deliver aid during this disaster response.

Our Disaster Response Team is closely monitoring the situation. We are already in direct contact with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and are actively participating in humanitarian coordination networks. As we reach out to local partners operating within the disaster zones, we are positioned and ready to mobilize critical aid shipments as specific health and medical needs materialize.

We will continue to update as the situation unfolds. Your support ensures we are able to deliver aid to the people who need it most after disasters like this.
