HHI Responds to Devastating Flooding in Nepal

Nepal Flooding

Catastrophic flooding and landslides struck communities in Nepal following a massive ice and rock avalanche near the Nepal-Tibet border on August 26. The resulting floods caused widespread destruction across Rasuwa and surrounding districts, damaging homes, roads, bridges and essential services, and leaving thousands of people displaced and in need of assistance.

Heart to Heart International is responding

Through our trusted partners Beautiful Gate Foundation and SDSS, HHI has provided 3,000 hygiene kits to people affected by Nepal flooding.
The kits have arrived and are now being distributed directly to communities impacted by the disaster. For families who have lost homes, belongings and access to basic necessities, these kits provide practical supplies to support personal hygiene, health and comfort during an incredibly difficult time.

And, most importantly, these kits are reaching people who need them.

These are some of the grateful recipients of HHI’s hygiene kits in Rasuwa.

Our disaster response work is made possible through strong local partnerships. Beautiful Gate Foundation and SDSS are helping ensure these supplies reach communities on the ground, where they can make an immediate difference.
As recovery continues, HHI will remain in communication with our partners to understand evolving health and humanitarian needs and identify additional ways we can support communities affected by the floods.
Together, we can help provide health and hope when it’s needed most.
