Disaster Response Manager

Heart to Heart International (HHI) strengthens communities through improving health access, providing humanitarian development and administering crisis relief worldwide. The Disaster Response Manager will develop disaster preparedness activities and participate in design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of disaster response programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement HHI disaster preparedness activities, including development of guidelines, policies and procedures according to donor and internationally recognized standards (e.g. Sphere standards, World Health Organization – Emergency Medical Team standards, etc.).
• Develop agency guidelines and other materials for disaster response interventions in collaboration with other departments.
• Monitor developments in areas of crises globally.
• Write technical narrative and guidelines for proposals, reports and SOPs.
• Develop Disaster Response Team (DRT) exercises and trainings to ensure all DRT staff and volunteers possess the competencies necessary for their roles and responsibilities.
• Develop and foster partnerships with governmental and non-governmental organizations to expand HHI’s disaster response network.
• Work with the Disaster Response Coordinator and DRT volunteers to ensure readiness to deploy.
• Assume Disaster Response Director duties if required.
