Our Community Health program is all about flexibility and teamwork. From preparing supplies for events to working directly with partners and the medically under-resourced, no two days look quite the same. The team adapts constantly based on needs from the community in Kansas City.
As a Community Health Worker, Joey Jimenez is deeply involved in these efforts, bringing thoughtful coordination and a passion for service to everything he does. “We always start by listening to our partners and understanding their needs ahead of time,” he says. “That’s how we make sure the support we provide is actually useful and effective.” With face-to-face community work happening several days a week, his role often puts him on the front lines of our mission.
Having previously volunteered at Heart to Heart International through Convoy of Hope, Joey felt an immediate connection to our values and culture. “I’ve always had roles that serve the public, but I wanted to have a bigger impact, especially for people who don’t always have a voice,” he explains. Now, as part of a close-knit Community Health team, Joey helps strengthen our visibility and connection throughout the Kansas City area.
