nepal patient careDISASTER RESPONSE TEAM

When a major international disaster strikes, HHI deploys a team of highly qualified responders equipped to rapidly respond as a self-contained mobile medical team.

The Disaster Response Team (DRT) works in disaster zones to provide medical care including triage, first aid, stabilization and referral of severe trauma, as well as basic emergency care of pediatrics, obstetric and metal health needs. Backed by top-notch HHI logistical support, the DRT members can focus on the task at hand – helping victims of disaster.

If you are a medical or logistical professional with international response experience or similar skills, we want you!

We are recruiting volunteers in these fields:  Nurses, Physicians/Midlevel Providers (Emergency Medicine, General Practitioner, Family Medicine, Pediatrics), EMT/Paramedics, Physical Therapists, Mental Health, Logistics, Administration, Security

We accept groups of four or more to work alongside us to make a real difference in the lives of people in Haiti.

Both medical and non-medical groups are encouraged to join us in this Caribbean nation to work on projects that support public health and humanitarian development needs in communities where we serve.

Have extra time to commit on a regular basis?  Live in the Kansas City Metro?   Come volunteer at our Operations Hub!

The Hub is the core of HHI’s global distribution network. Working closely with the HHI staff you will have a hand in receiving, packaging and shipping medicine, supplies, hygiene kits and Ready Relief Boxes around the world!

Sanofi Volunteers GDCGROUP TEAM-BUILDING

Looking for some hands-on volunteering for your company, team or group?   A Volunteer Day at the Hub is perfect for just that.  We can accommodate small and large groups.

On your Volunteer Day your group will sort supplies and assemble hygiene kits – an integral part of HHI’s distribution network and disaster response efforts.  Plus, this is a great way to get to know your friends and co-workers in a whole new way!

We need volunteers who want to make a tangible difference right here in our very own community of Kansas City!  We have a series of upcoming community health events that have a variety of skills needed.  You could be medical, non-medical, retired, a stay-at-home parent, in college… we could certainly use your skills & your time!

US Lab WorkLABORATORY SERVICES

Laboratory services are critical to making the right diagnosis and providing the correct treatment for a patient. 

Are you working the field of clinical laboratory?  Volunteer with us to improve lab services for under-served and vulnerable populations.

Rural Health

Heart to Heart International (HHI) will be kicking off our Rural Health Initiative in Missouri, September 16th through September 24th, 2016. We will be conducting a medical event in the communities of the 4 counties of the Missouri Bootheel as a way to introduce the citizens to HHI. These services are being provided at the request of the local community and will be focused on the medically uninsured in need of medical care.

We are currently recruiting a medical and dental team of physicians/midlevel providers, dentists and nurses to staff our Mobil Medical Unit for this week long event. HHI will provide lodging and meals for the volunteers. Volunteers from the Kansas City area may be able to car pool to the Bootheel together or with HHI staff. Volunteers from other areas need to provide their own transportation. Please contact Staci Parelman to sign up and be part of this exciting opportunity – Staci.parelman@hearttoheart.org.

 


Jamaica

We are seeking volunteer Pediatric Residents (3rd or 4th year), Pediatricians and/or Family Physicians with extensive pediatric experience to deploy for a 4-week assignment to the country of Jamaica. Currently there are openings for the months of August and December 2016. Positions are also available in 2017.

In country accommodations and meals will be provided at no cost by the Couples Resorts (www.couples.com) however volunteers must cover their airfare to Jamaica and a small program administration fee.

Heart to Heart’s trusted partner in Jamaica, the Issa Trust Foundation, was founded by the Couples Resort in 2005 with a mission to improve the health and education of children in Jamaica. HHI is helping our partner accomplish their mission to provide improved primary and urgent care pediatrics by providing two volunteer pediatricians each month to working in 30 day rotations.

Volunteers keep us going.  We are lean and efficient and rely on committed individuals to augment our staff.  Support Volunteers help to keep HHI’s main office running smoothly, staff our reception area and depending on skill sets are assigned special projects.  Hours are flexible.
