Faith Community Health (FCH) in Branson, Missouri, provides quality affordable healthcare to under-resourced communities. Heart to Heart International is proud to partner with the clinic through our point-of-care laboratory grant program with National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC), BD and Henry Schein Cares.
Technological Advancements: Faster Results, Better Care
This grant provides laboratory technology for the clinic that enables faster test results and better patient care. The new technology was installed in December 2023, and four clinic staff members were trained on using it. FCH is now able to offer essential tests like blood sugar, cholesterol, and pregnancy tests during a single visit.
HHI also provides ongoing support to FCH, including technical assistance, training and supplies. This ensures the clinic can continue using the technology effectively.
A Patient’s Story: Impact in Action
One patient story highlights the impact of the new technology. A hesitant patient in his 60s received crucial tests thanks to the new POC technology, revealing pre-diabetes and low HDL. FCH not only provided reassurance but also educated him about his cardiovascular health risks. This empowered him and his wife to take charge of his health, leading to a commitment to ongoing care.
