An advance assessment disaster response team left for Jefferson City early on Thursday, May 23, after a large tornado tore through the town late Wednesday night.
The team brought hygiene kits to distribute to people affected by this destructive storm. They also met with local officials and partners to determine the most effective ways to help with the recovery effort.
Joan Kelly, Heart to Heart International Disaster Response Manager, gives update from Jefferson City, Missouri.
The team delivered some of the hygiene kits to shelters housing people who had lost their homes to the storm.
More help is on its way, including medicines, medical supplies, and more hygiene kits. We will continue reaching out to partners and delivering medical and humanitarian aid to those in need.
