North Omaha Laboratory Technology Installation

The North Omaha Area Health (NOAH) clinic in Omaha, Nebraska, offers no cost or low-cost health services, including health screenings, health classes, and support groups. The clinic’s mission is to be a beacon of light and hope in the community for health services and meet the needs of the patient first.

The clinic is open five days a week and provides support to the community through health education and screening events for diabetic and hypertension programs.

In 2023, NOAH was selected as one of six grant recipients to receive new point-of-care laboratory equipment and training through a collaborative program with Heart to Heart International, National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, BD and Henry Schein Cares.

On September 15, 2023, the clinic’s point-of-care lab equipment installation was completed, and clinic staff members underwent extensive training on nine essential test systems, including blood sugar, influenza, pregnancy, Strep A, RSV and more.

These tests empower the clinic to provide immediate results and treatment plans during a single patient office visit. The clinic will also use these testing capabilities at its community outreach events. Being able to provide almost immediate feedback and results to patients will significantly improve their quality of care.

The clinic will continue to receive ongoing technical support and mentoring, alongside vital testing reagents and supplies throughout the next calendar year. This programs highlights the importance of collaboration in working to make quality healthcare accessible to all.
