Standing with Haiti in Crisis: Delivering Essential Aid

Haiti faces a growing humanitarian crisis. Escalating gang violence has displaced families, disrupted lives, and left many struggling to meet basic needs.

Heart to Heart International (HHI) is committed to supporting our Haitian neighbors during this challenging time. Partnering with our longtime collaborator, Food for the Poor, we’re mobilizing resources to deliver essential hygiene kits to those impacted by the crisis.

A Nation in Need

For months, Haiti has been grappling with gang violence. A senior UN official described a growing humanitarian crisis, with more than 362,000 displaced Haitians, a lack of clean water and less than half of health facilities in Port-au-Prince functioning at normal capacity. Immediate and bold action is required to tackle the “cataclysmic” situation in Haiti, the UN human rights office, OHCHR, said in a report issued on March 28.

Power of Partnership

HHI is committed to taking action. Nearly 20,000 hygiene kits have already been shipped and are pre-positioned in Food for the Poor’s Florida warehouse. These kits contain vital supplies like soap, shampoo, toothpaste – basic necessities that can make a world of difference in times of displacement.

Our partnership with Food for the Poor leverages their extensive network in Haiti, ensuring these critical hygiene kits reach those who need them most as soon as safe passage is established.

Haiti Holds a Special Place in Our Hearts

For many years, HHI has had the privilege of working in Haiti, building strong relationships with the Haitian people. Their resilience and spirit in the face of adversity inspire us deeply. We are committed to supporting Haiti through this crisis and beyond.

Hope in the Midst of Crisis

While the situation in Haiti is complex and difficult, we believe everyone deserves access to basic necessities and healthcare. By providing essential hygiene kits, we can help displaced families maintain their health and well-being.
