Update on Earthquake Response

The devastating earthquake that struck Türkiye (Turkey) and Syria has killed 50,000 people and displaced millions more. Heart to Heart International has been coordinating closely with partners on the ground to deliver surgical supplies, hygiene kits, medicines and portable, stand-alone medical clinics.

The portable medical clinics include two Trauma/ER clinics and one Maternal Health clinic. Officials estimate 150,000 pregnant women have been impacted by the quake, so having a safe place to receive prenatal care and to deliver a baby is critical.

Additional shipments of hygiene kits, and essential medicines and supplies, including pain relief medicine, wheelchairs and crutches, will be delivered in the coming weeks.

Your support will deliver life-saving medicines and supplies to survivors. Read more and donate to help.

Ukraine: Hygiene Kits Making a Difference

Last year, we partnered with Lenexa Baptist Church to send tens of thousands of hygiene kits to the people of Ukraine. The church has partnered with Ukrainian community activist Ivan Hontar to help effectively distribute the hygiene kits on the ground in the affected communities and support the refugees in Ukraine. Here, Ivan shares what his groups have been doing and how these kits provide more than just hygiene.

Medicines Help Health Clinic in Rural Guatemala

Nearly all the men, women and children living in the rural communities around Amatitlán, Guatemala, seek healthcare at the Amatitlán Health Center. For most of the community members, this is the only access to health and healthcare resources that they have. The center relies on donations of medicines and supplies from Heart to Heart International through our partner Food for the Poor to continue to provide free service to these under-resourced communities. Read more about how these donations make a difference for people in rural Guatemala.

HHI and Partners Build Medical Clinic in Eswatini

HHI has been working in Eswatini (a country in southeast Africa) since 2018 and earlier this year we broke ground on construction for a new medical clinic to replace a desperately needed, but dilapidated community clinic. The 70-year-old building was showing its age with roof leakage and mold, and medical care was being compromised because of its conditions. We will continue to share exciting developments as we work toward improving health access for patients in Eswatini. Read more about the history of our work in Eswatini and the exciting plans for the new clinic here
