As a new school year approaches, students need more than just traditional classroom supplies like notebooks and pencils. Access to personal hygiene and health essentials plays a vital role in a student’s confidence, comfort, and overall well-being.
Heart to Heart International’s Community Health team was proud to participate in the 2026 Wyandotte County Back to School & Health Fair, held at Homefield KCK. Hosted by the Kansas City, Kansas School Foundation for Excellence, the annual event brought together more than 100 community partners with a shared mission: connecting Wyandotte County students and families with school supplies, health services, personal care items, and vital community resources.
Distributing High-Need, Full-Size Personal Care Essentials
Our team focused on providing full-size personal care items designed to support students’ daily routines long. During the event, we distributed:
- Over 500 full-size sticks of Degree deodorant to keep students feeling fresh throughout the school day.
- Full-size hair care products, including shampoos and conditioners thoughtfully chosen to serve a broad range of hair textures and curl patterns.
- Thousands of blemish and acne skin care patches, helping young adults navigate common skin concerns with confidence.
- Essential hygiene supplies, including body soap, nail clippers, and menstrual products.
- DripDrop hydration packets to help keep students hydrated during warm summer days and extracurricular activities.
Providing full-size items rather than trial-size samples ensures that families can rely on these products for weeks to come, alleviating some of the financial burden associated with back-to-school preparation.
Building Confidence for the School Year Ahead
The atmosphere at Homefield KCK was filled with energy and enthusiasm as families moved through the event.
