Laboratories Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer to Help Labs in Underserved Communities

Many free and charitable clinics resort to sending their patients to larger hospitals or reference labs to collect the samples and run the tests they need to diagnose and treat their patients. Our lab program enlists volunteers to assist us in setting up laboratory testing capabilities within these clinics as we monitor and mentor them for a year to achieve a successful and sustainable laboratory program of their own.

Point-of-Care Lab Install Volunteers

POC Lab Install Volunteers will travel to clinic sites to help set up laboratory analyzers and equipment and train staff on running point-of-care laboratory tests, good laboratory practices, regulatory compliance, and HHI programmatic responsibilities. Approximately six months later, a second trip will serve as a simulated regulatory audit of the established POC lab. Finally, our volunteers lend their technical expertise remotely to help mentor and support the lab implementation.
