On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, Heart to Heart International delivered 900 hygiene kits to the Olathe Fire Department. These kits will be distributed by the fire department to people sheltering in their homes and unable to or uncomfortable with leaving to find necessary hygiene supplies.
The kits include soap, toothpaste, washcloths, towels, shampoo, nail clippers, and a flyer detailing how and when to wash your hands.
Call the fire department at 913-971-7900; press “4”; and, leave your name, number and address. Their goal is to deliver kits within 24 hours.
Fire Chief Jeff DeGraffenreid said, “Partnerships like this are invaluable, especially during challenging times.” “Good hygiene helps health,” he added.
The kits were assembled by the students and staff at Linwood Elementary school as a way of paying back after a tornado damaged their community last year.
