Honoring CEO Kim Carroll as She Announces Upcoming Retirement

Kim Carroll

As CEO of Heart to Heart International (HHI), Kim Carroll has shepherded the organization through a period of extraordinary transformation in the global humanitarian landscape. With steady leadership and a true heart for the mission, Kim has expanded HHI’s reach and improved health systems worldwide. Now, after spending the last several years ensuring the organization is stronger than ever, Kim has informed the Board and staff of her intention to retire before the end of the year.

Kim’s path from volunteer to CEO has been fueled by a passion for helping others, and today, HHI is stronger because of it. Since being named CEO in 2019, Kim has led HHI to some remarkable milestones, including achieving World Health Organization (WHO) verification as an Emergency Medical Team Type 1 Mobile. This rigorous, years-long achievement elevated our standing in the global humanitarian community, placing HHI among an elite group of international responders.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Kim ensured HHI remained operational and impactful, delivering essential PPE and services across the United States and globally. Her leadership also extended to complex international responses, including recent critical aid initiatives in Gaza.

During Kim’s tenure, HHI has not only delivered record amounts of aid through the Access to Medicine program but has also grown a talented, passionate staff ready to carry the mission forward.

“My belief in our mission is stronger than ever,” Kim said. “The Board is currently searching for a successor to build on our momentum and continue furthering our efforts across the U.S. and globally.”

We are deeply grateful for Kim’s vision and the solid foundation she leaves behind. As she prepares to trade the office building for her travel bucket list, we wish her the very best. HHI remains fully committed to our mission of improving health access, and we look forward to introducing our next leader as we continue this vital work together.
