Heart to Heart International’s recent shipment of medicines and eye care supplies played a critical role in the latest mission led by our partner, Community Healthcare Network Nigeria (CHCN-NG). For over ten years, CHCN-NG has been a leader in delivering free, biannual medical missions to under-resourced communities across Nigeria. Their efforts have already positively impacted over 400,000 individuals, proving that scalable, high-quality healthcare is possible in even the most remote areas.
During this latest 10-day mission (January 3–13), the team served 2,875 people across Ehime Mbano, Atta, and Ikeduru. Using HHI-provided supplies, including medicated eye drops, the team served 2,875 people, providing over 1,000 eye care services and performing 86 life-changing surgeries.
The impact was best captured by those on the frontlines. Nurse Lilian Duru noted that she had never seen such a “wonderful heart of free giving,” while patient Opara Amarachi, who received eye drops and glasses, shared, “This is the day the Lord has blessed me over and over again.”
This is a powerful example of how our supporters are fueling medical teams to provide essential care to those who need it most. By combining HHI’s resources with CHCN-NG’s proven healthcare model, we are ensuring that thousands more Nigerians have access to the primary and preventative care they deserve.
The Impact at a Glance:
- 2,875 total people served.
- 1,089 eye care services and glasses provided.
