We are deeply saddened to learn of the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse and attack on First Lady Martine Moïse of Haiti last night and offer our sincerest condolences to their loved ones. Our thoughts and hearts are with the Haitian people during this troubling time. We have ensured that our Heart to Heart International – Haiti team is safe, and we will continue to hope for peace and stability as we work to improve health throughout the country.
Message from Josué André, Mission Director, Heart to Heart International-Haiti:
“The Heart to Heart International office in Haiti thanks all the friends, colleagues and partners who have supported the Haitian people through the organization in Haiti.
We want to confirm that the Haitian staff is fine and our facilities across the country are intact. Our staff are called to vigilance and observation during these times of trouble to stay safe.
We have had ups and downs, difficult times, some more difficult than others, like the one we are going through now. But our love for life has held us and will still hold us despite the most shameful, bitter and dark circumstances.
We need your solidarity, your positive thoughts, and your prayers more than ever. Your presence at our side is a catalyst for our will to fight poverty and social failures. One day it will be daylight and we can all celebrate together.
Thank you for everything.”
