Working with The Salvation Army

For the last two years, Heart to Heart International and The Salvation Army have partnered to help the Kansas City community.  HHI’s large facility provides the perfect space for The Salvation Army’s Project Warmth coat and blanket drive in November and Christmas Food Box program in December.

Project Warmth

This project provides new or gently used coats, hats, blankets, and gloves to give to people in need in during the cold winter months. Community member drop off their donations at various collection points throughout the metro. Over 15,000 items were collected at various collection points throughout the metro in November. These items were brought to the HHI headquarters to be sorted by volunteers and then ultimately distributed through The Salvation Army and other local agencies.

Food Box Program

The Christmas Food Box program begins in December and provides food to 5,000 Kansas Citians. As they did last year, volunteers will use the large HHI facility space to sort the food into the boxes that will then be distributed to people in need.

We are thrilled to collaborate with local nonprofit organizations to help people in need. Our large facility allows their volunteers to spread out and sort donations safely and efficiently. Heart to Heart International believes that by working together, we can all do more.
